Dan Stein A.K.A. "Fresh"
Fresh вместе с "D-Bridge", "Maldini" и "Vegas" летом 1998 года создают легендарный Drum and bass проект и лэйбл под общим названием "Bad Company".
В Декабре 1998 года у них выходит первый сингл "The Nine" который сразу же становится хитом, и по сей день его можно услышать в миксах известных ди-джеев.
Большинство хитов от проекта "Bad Company" спродюсировал именно сам Fresh.
Сразуже после ухода в 2003 году из "Bad Company" на лэйблах "Ram Recorgings" и "Valve Recording"s у него выходят собственные релизы, которые достигают вершин Drum and Bass хит-парадов.
Немного позже в месте с Adam F они создают свой собственный лэйбл "Breakbeat Kaos".
В презентацию лэйбла они выпускают
2CD mixed by Adam F & Dj Fresh featuring MC GQ на "Ministry Of Sound Music". С момента создания лэйбла "Breakbeat Kaos", на нем выходят релизы которые сразуже становятся настоящими хитами, такие как "Fresh - Dalicks / Temple of doom", "Adam F & Dj Fresh - The Original Jungle Sound EP", "Pendulum - Another planet / Voyager", "Dj Fresh - Submarines / Submarines (Pendulum Remix)".
В 2003 году Fresh получает награду в номинации "Best Producer" на премии самого значимого журнала о Drum and Bass культуре "Knowledge Magazine"
Именно он в 2003 году нашел и помог спродюсировать проект под названием Pendulum, они также получают награду от журнала "Knowldege Magazine" в номинации "Best Single".
На данный момент Fresh праву считается самым талантливым и уважаемым Drum and Bass продюсером в мире,
его трэки, и трэки его лэйбла играют все самые лучшие Drum and Bass ди-джеи мира.
Simon was given the name "Bassline" after destroying the majority of the speakers at the parties at which he played.
In the early 1990?s Simon "Bassline" Smith was at the forefront, playing for some of the biggest dance organizations in the country such as: - Perception, Methology, Rain Dance, Dance ?91 and World Dance.
As the underground rave scene progressed in the early 1990?s Simon ?Bassline? Smith was at the forefront, playing for some of the biggest dance organizations in the country such as: - Perception, Methology, Rain Dance, Dance ?91 and World Dance. Along side such house hold names like Grooverider, Fabio, Mickey Finn and Jumping? Jack Frost.
Simon was spearheading the new musical form (Jungle) now known as Drum & Bass.
Simon quickly set up his own label, called Absolute 2, which at the time, was one of the only Drum & Bass labels in the world. He signed Doc Scott, Nookie and Ray Keith and released their debut productions. With the success of Absolute 2, under his belt Simon began his career as a producer. He was an instant success with anthems such as:- Music and Life, Jungle, Mine, Distinction,Palomino and Midnight which can still be heard in sets across the globe today.
His musical style was, to say the least, ahead of its time.
Over the 4 years or so Bassline Smith along with his partner Drumsound have released tunes on their own labels Technique Recordings / Worldwide Audio Recordings, the mighty Grooverider?s Prototype with the 2004 number one club smash "Odyssey", Renegade Hardware, V Recordings, Formation, Urban Takeover, Grid, Flex, CIA. Future projects include Bukem?s Good Looking Records and Fabio?s Creative Source showcasing a formidable mix and blend of all styles of cutting edge Drum and Bass. Over the years Simon has released tunes on numerous compilations as well as on such reputable labels as DeeJay Recordings, Absolute Zero, DeeJay?s Delight, Death Becomes Me and of course his own label Absolute 2.
Currently in 2004 Simon Bassline Smith alongside his partner Drumsound are on the brink of releasing their debut LP " The Nature Of The Beast" on Technique recordings as the label has moved from respected underground drum and bass label to one of the leading labels in the industry.
Drumsound & Bassline Smith has gone from strength to strength utilizing his knowledge to build an imprint of global proportions. Their success has spread the Technique sound to every continent the world over.
